Tyler101 there is no save file in stronghold 2 so where do i put it please reply i need help really bad
Stealthcb I found an interesting variation on the offensive method for defeating the main invasion. I built up the castle with the square towers as walls. I had 17 knights just inside the castle as my armored cav force, had 150 archers, 35 crossbowmen, and two forces mixed of spearmen and pikemen for use in out-of-castle skirmishes. I had about 30 swordsmen and some macemen around my lords in the keep, just in case this didn't work.

Then I built several Ballista and Catapults, which I rolled over to the fields where the Hawk's bridge makes landfall. I kept them JUST in range of the end of the bridge. Behind them, I built a wooden wall running from the woods all the way east to the quarry. I did NOT man this wall...it was there for delaying purposes only. I positioned five burning carts behind this wall.

As soon as the Hawk's troops started crossing the bridge, I opened fire. They lost a ton of laddermen and archers right at start up, and as soon as the siege camp appeared, I targeted that. It was gone before a single engine could roll out. I managed to decimate about half of the invading force before they destroyed my siege engines.

As soon as that happened, I created 4 more of each engine and rolled them to the hilly area west of the quarry. When the Bull's troops rolled in, I did the same thing, targeting them and destroying their siege camp before they rolled out any weapons. I then deleted a section of the wooden wall just as the enemy started advancing and rolled the burning carts into their lead elements, then rebuilt the wall quickly.

The remaining elements of the invading army attacked my siege engines quickly, but that was OK. They were scattered. The few that tried coming around the east end of the wood wall were EASILY dispatched by my 150 archers. Those coming through the destroyed wall were wiped out by the wall-mounted cats and ballistas. Of course, part of my economy was destroyed...but oh well. A small number of swordsmen tried flanking me to the northwest, but I sent my mounted knights and maneuver groups out and they made SHORT work of them.

I lost a lot of archers this way for some reason. The walls were under pretty heavy archery fire, but with some time left to attack the Hawk, I was able to rebuild that force sufficiently.

This approach was entertaining because that wooden wall and the early loss of their siege camps completely befuddled the AI enemy troops. Even if they'd made it to my main castle, they'd have been helpless to do much. Their laddermen were gone, they had no cats or trebuchets, and their armored forces were under attack.

keerit12 Yeh this is real good but where is chapter 9???
wiings lol i just made a huge load of knights... about 105. i only lost about 10 in all three missions, maybe less.
lopen139 i found out that u can make it very easy and only use about 60 archers 30 axe throwers and 20 melee units to defeat the hawks final invasion\

u should build a sort of maze and not close of a single path, use a lot of traps and rolling logs and archers and axe throwers on the walls, the hawk wont care for the walls and rush through :D got a screenshot of it to but cant upload it
