Your adviser enters the room and heads strait to you with a small scroll of parchment in his hand.He bows slightly and offers the parchment to you saying "my Lord, a letter has just arrived".
At first glance it appears to be an scrolled letter without a seal or mark, possibly a letter from one of the neighboring estates. You look up at the adviser "has anyone read this letter'?" "No my Lord the letter came as you see it bearing no seal or mark, an invitation to some dance or feast no doubt." You then open the letter and read just under your breath.
Dear Sir,
I apologize for the improper form of stationary but I have been left with no other choice.
I write this letter to you asking for help. My Lord Master has gone completely mad.
Ive always thought him an unjust and cruel Lord , but I believe he has now gone completely insane.
You see, he is recently back from a war in the east and has returned with some strange ailment of the mind.
He has slaughtered all the people of the keep that are not military.
He even tore down the beacon on the eye peninsula in hopes of trapping wayward ships here to their doom.
I have no other place to turn. Please help us.
Bermius Gareth

Playability:
Regarding the conception and content structures, “Eye of the Moon” reminds me of the original missions of the Path of Peace Campaign. You’re fighting your way through four missions each one with different tasks/quests to accomplish, no matter if hard or easy.
Especially in mission 1 I’ve been forced to restart a few times until I could work out a suitable strategy to master all the requirements and obstacles. Anyway, I didn’t notice any major glitches, but I don’t understand whether these trade options (vegetables and armours) are useful or not in mission 1, as you can neither produce nor use them to your advantage efficiently at the beginning.
Furthermore, I could imagine a consequent restriction of some building options (e.g. church, monastery, musician’s guild, mercenary post, or any kind of stonewall or towers) in game because of the space-consuming situation on your territory. In the final fourth mission (after Olaf’s death) the former enemy castle estate changes its hostile attitude and converts to your party turning into an ally. Though providing plenty of wood, the monks don’t start rebuilding the beacon located on the central peninsula. This may be caused by the fact that you are not able to influence the allied AI directly. As for the ship movement event, I have to point at a tiny optical flaw (not to appear nitpicking!): The ship is not riding at anchor off shore as usual; it seems to run aground looking quite strange.
Balance:
For sure, this is the most difficult item to get to a reasonable and justified rating. Mission 1 proved to be the hardest nut to crack. Especially the destruction of the bandit camps executed by a huge army of armed peasants turned out to an exceptional challenge. It took me some time to get a stable economy under control. Crime and filth are an order of the day keeping you watchful all time long. This means that you have to take care of your popularity permanently. Fires are latently threatening and as they break off you should be well prepared. The rarely occurring invasions (unlike the initial surprise attack) have been too harmless/unspectacular and relatively easy to repel. Since it has been hard to amass honor points right from the start, the acquirement of the neighboring village estates was protracting for a long time. The conquest of Olaf’s castle turned out to be a quickly solvable task. In my first attempt, I successfully stormed the fortifications with 20 knights, 100 archers, 20 crossbowmen, 50 spearmen, and 10 pikemen, although deploring heavy casualties; however, it’s always better than a time-consuming siege.
Creativity:
This map is substantially containing many creative elements, i.e. the lovely map design, the original scripting or the perfect arrangement/sequence of events and objectives. What else do you want?
Map Design:
The scenario displays a romantic looking bay surrounded by densely wooded hills, and inhabited by some villagers living their simple life in poverty and humility, not yet exploiting the given resources (stone and iron). The bog, a peacefully murmuring stream and the grassy plains and slopes are adding a special touch to the charms of an attractive medieval landscape. It’s just the coastal zone in my opinion, that might need a more detailed treatment/modeling (e.g. reeds, pebbles, sandy beaches, shrubs etc. …). Overall, it’s a nice design here! By the way, are all these walls on the beacon peninsula destined to be ruins, aren’t they?
Story:
Sir Mills proves that it isn’t necessary to apply any special rhetorical idioms to get a good story done. A mysterious parchment illustrating the present status quo and covered by a cry for help; that’s all what you need to get a general idea of the future tasks. There’s also in brief outlines, a concise compilation of hints leading you through the scenario if you should get stuck. Well done! Keep up the good work!

Hello, Sir Mills!
Stratego's well-thought-out comments almost perfectly echo my experiences with your map, even including the lazy beacon-builders. He's done a great job of explanation at every level of the scenario, and his review hits the mark pretty well.
I especially appreciate you taking the time to create a map that has a lot of "terrain appeal." For me, it really is an important addition to any map.
Thanks!
