Archipelago of Darkness v2.8, by Lord Tanthos

Backstory:
Illithia. A rich and green country. Home of the six knights of the dragon and current site of the mythical Round Table. A human kingdom, strong, powerful, and proud.
It has not seen blood since the Purging twelve years ago, when the six knights of the dragon sought to remove all the denizens of evil from their continent. To the farthest southern deserts, the frozen north, and the shores of the east and west, they killed and captured tens of thousands of foul men and beasts. Those who surrendered were imprisoned in the great Sphere, a magical device which has an interior far more vast by miles than its true size. No man can say what lies within that magical ball, but all know that it is now infested by thousands of dark and vile prisoners.
But, there are those who escaped the Purging, those who foresaw its coming and fled before it became the end of them. Bearing on dragons, bats, ships, or magic, a few thousand escaped and fled to an archipelago far off the coast of Illithia known as the Archipelago of Darkness. This chain of islands lie as shipwrecks, devoid of true life, and what nature exists is corrupted beyond recognition. And, it is here that the two liches, Mordred and Vlad the Impaler, both necromancers of legendary reknown, have based themselves.
By capturing vessels and weaving vile enchantment spells upon the crews, the Liches continue to swell the ranks of their army with magically-willing men. Unfortunately for them, their ability to summon more dark beasts is dead, for there are none to be summoned, with the exception of the Hell-spawned demons. The rest are permanently imprisoned within the Sphere.
It will not be long before the Liches can return to the land from which they were cast out, and exact their brutal vengeance upon the land.

This first map consists of three missions each designed to test your strategic abilities on entirely different areas and in different ways. When you have won, it is recommended that you post a picture in the official campaign thread found here: http://stronghold.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forum/display.cgi?action=ct&f=33,3161,,30. Follow the instructions given in the thread or in the story file for this given map.
It is recommended that you read the story file for the best story and instructions, and to better clarify your objectives and goals. However, a shortened version of the story is given in each map's briefing all the same.
A hint file is included, giving 2-10 hints for each mission in a given scenario. If you find yourself stuck, in need of help, or for want of a starting advantage, feel free to read them.
And lastly, enjoy the map! Thank you for downloading.
Look for Mission 2: The Apocalyptic March coming up soon! |

Playability: 4
Well it was good, not great, mission two ruined it a bit as it was quiet economic, and we were very limited also mission 3 was way too... short! As for what was good, I think mission1 was exciting and had a good attackive-stratigic style!
Balance: 4
no, the balance wasn't right; mission1 was wierd, we had a dragon and a lot of demons but the rest of our force was low. Mission 2 had an error that peasants couldn't go to work and we had very low resources, and mission 3 was just plain old easy, Mordred alone with the dragon would win.
Creativity: 5
Creative story and map design I think you deserve a 5.
Map Design: 5
Well it was very eye-appealing and actually I learned somethings from it, nice cliffs and cliff edges, although I think you overused the tinting tool and used it in squares.
Story/Instructions: 4.5
Very good briefing and story and nice First person writing, but in the story we have Vlad and Mordred? What the hell?
Additional Comments:
Well I think it was good as a campaign starter, but was expecting more tbh. I do believe though that your real talents are in Ice maps so I'll be waiting for those. I think you should have made mission 2 differently, it was a crisis-economic, with low resources. I think something like economic+defense would have been better, you know some boat warrior attacks and less crisis matters please.
