Chapter 1. Founding of France
The sea settles, the winds die down. The grass of dread turns to the grass of gold. The waters flow slows, the streams so gentle. The flowers bloom, the dead tree’s come back to life.
France, a great and powerful kingdom.
“Today, you men will follow me. Today, I lead to freedom. Today, we shall rule as our own free men!”
I led an expedition of 8 others. We were going to find new lands. And we were sure we had found the right place.
“Wow… This land is beautiful!” Said one of the explorers.
Indeed it was, it was filled with the prize of life. The riches of earth was with us! This shall be the perfect spot to rule a kingdom!
We continued along, as if there was an invisible path in our eyes. We inspected every inch of ground which would soon be ours. We needed to find the best spot to begin our rule.
A red headed explorer climbed on the rocks.
“There…” She said, with a bright expression on here face.
We hurried down, and soon, we too saw the new lands. Resources, water, flat ground, this would be the perfect spot.
When we got to the spot, the 8 others began to build up a keep to reside in. While they did that, I went out on a small march, down to the river.
When I got there, I was in awe. Across the river were two graves, a piled with two different warriors. Around the statue grow grass and flowers. But I was soon turned back by a call.
“It is finished your lordship! Come to the top of your keep and rule us well!” blistered one of the explorers.
My journey has finally begun. My plans, to run a successful economy, have a massive army, drive the lands of the wolfs, explore the mountains, and defeat evil. I will become the richest, most powerful kingdom in all the land!

Chapter 2. Scout’s report
“Greetings my Lordship.” Came my scout.
“Aie. At ease soldier. What is the news?” I bolstered.
The scout handed me some scrolls. It was notes he took while we were off exploring for a foundation. The notes read
“North. Large water. Across large water, much land. Possible hostile enemies.
East. Destroyed, hot lands. Dead trees and little/ no grass.
West. Wolfs and bears. Many trees.
South. Mountains.”
It was all shorthanded, but enough for me to know that there could be hostile enemies in the north. I’ll let them come to me when they’re ready.
The scout had also explored the mountains..
(This next part is the scout, not you)
“What a climb! What a view! What a kingdom he will rule!” I thought to myself. It was a pretty place, and very nice. These mountains would make a nice getaway, or defense if needed. I see many resources, especially an abundance of stone!
I continued to march through, finding some dark places, some rivers and even a lake. Then I started to find weapons… Scattered along. There were once people here, and they weren’t peaceful.
“I should go tell the lordship” I thought.

Chapter 3. The rest of your life. (missions)
I will build, fight, and win today. I should rid the world of these wolfs and bears, or just build up Sim Style, and hope nobody attacks.
Designers notes/
Hi all. Here is another two day free build for you to munch on. I desided to attempt a map of France, since my Italy, Japan and England weren’t too good, and since I never got around to finishing Denmark or Europe, or New England for that matter. I hope you like this map, and watch out for the waaaves of wolfs. They seem to find peasants a bit tastier than the many deer I placed for them.
Enjoy! And sorry if the story is kinda longated. |

Playability: 5
Lots of fun, room for a nice castle but not simply a wide flat space! There are mountain ranges running throughout that don't make you feel cramped, but still force you to give it some thought.
Balance: 4.5
There are some challenges to consider in order to build your dream castle. It is hard of course to talk about balance in a freebuild, some are designed to be harrowing while others are freebuilds in the literal sense. This one is more toward the latter.
Creativity: 4.5
I loved the swamp.
Map Design: 5
I loved the swamp. LOL the whole map was excellently crafted, accurate and beautiful.
I've duplicated the map for my own use and edited just a little to make a kingmaker, with Paris in the middle, Aquitaine along the west coast and Burgundy in the southeast. Unfortunately I had to destroy your nice mark, otherwise the Duke of Burgundy would find himself in a smelly situation, literally. Also had to destroy the statues in the garden or else one would have a clear advantage, getting free honor from the start. A beautiful map, one that I enjoy both in the original Freebuild mode and now Kingmaker. |

There was actually someone who made a war map of Spain, around the time that I was making maps. It was a really good one, I think the guys name was Gordon who made it. If you find his account look around and you'll find it. |
