War is upon you. Woodsmen have reported a large army heading your way. The Bull has emptied his lands and will do everything in his power to take your castle.
Defend it at all cost.
This map is all about strategic defence. There are many options and many varieties possible. The castle is built on a huge rock. The enemy has to siege four walls before attacking the castle itself. It’s up to you to decide how to man the walls. Use your tower catapult, rolling logs and stone throwers wisely. This will spare many of your men.
You are outnumbered. Don’t try to defeat the enemy in the open field. Use the protection of the walls and towers.
There are some weapons left in the armoury. Try to get as much honour as you can while being sieged. The units you create may be just enough to hold the line.
When playing, pause the game and take a look at the details in this map. A lot of siege maps lack detail. I hope you enjoy the precision this map was made with.
Additional Comments:
Great map disign, I really enjoyed playing it. I'm definitely going to look forward to playing more of your maps.

Great - lots of stuff happening

Quite hard, but not too hard, just right.
Creativity: 5
A clever scenario where you can beat what seem to be overwhelming odds by using the defences and withdrawing when needed
Map Design: 5
Really beautiful map. Distances were also clever, with siege camps out of direct catapult reach (but I found that by aiming as close as I could to the camp that the catapult eventually knocked the camp down, due to its variable aim)!
Story/Instructions: 4
I didn't read it properly and didn't see that I could create more fighters. Duh! I might play it again.
Additional Comments:
I had great trouble with the engineers, who kept going back outside the walls every time I took my eyes off them. I wonder why? I have never quite got the hang of engineers and boiling oil in SH2.
I got beaten back from the first walls, and the first gatehouse got knocked down but defended the second wall and gatehouse without needing to retreat again, and in the end came back out and polished off the last few stragglers.
Once again an excellent map, Accolon. You rock!
