After the sacking of Rome in 410 A.D. at the hands of the Visigoths led by Aleric I, these Germanic barbarians settled in Italy and then established their own capital to the west at Toulouse in southern France, halfway between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Slowly they expanded their dominance into Hispania but their northern growth was halted by the Franks under Clovis I in 507 at the battle of Vouillé. All of the Iberian Peninsula south of the Pyrenees fell under their rule until 711 when the kingdom was decimated at the battle of Guadalete by invading Arabs and Berber. Shortly thereafter the Visigoth people ceased to be.
The legacy of the Kings lived on through the Visigoth Code, a formal book of law first enacted in 642. The code was preserved by later cultures and influenced law well into the thirteenth century.
The Visigoth Kings succeeded their father or close relative to the throne until 531, the fall of the Balti Dynasty that had begun with Aleric I over 200 years before. The subsequent kingship took on a more elective approach with few sons and many rebels reaching forth for the Crown of the Visigoths.

Map notes.
Map built around the Canyon Bridge trick, influenced by the name of the Visigoth and then developing into a dry Pyrenees influenced mountainscape.
Five Keep Estates with varying degrees of space, resources and advantages. Three Village estates with fortifications and valuable resources. Winding mountain passes culminate at the Ogival Bridge, the only way across the steep canyon that bisects the land. No wolves. Don't feed the bears.
Balance: 4.5
Feels balanced though each keep is quite different.
Creativity: 4.5
The fortified estate at the bridge is a treat. Perhaps some more thought could have gone into the little things? ie. more trees etc.
Map Design: 5
I love the canyon and bridge, it really gives the map some life.
Story/Instructions: 5
The designer's description of the map is accurate and fair.
Additional Comments:
I hate to pick on the bridge, because I love it, but is anyone else seeing the texture-mapping issues? It appears to shimmer some of the time.
Nice work! Give us more!

Awesome. I play it over and over without being bored. Your eye for precision and technically accurate usage of the editor is obvious.
I look forward to your next map.

Anyone can make changes to any map for their own use. It's when you upload another's work without permission or credit given that is frowned upon.
What would you like to change aqua?
