Stronghold 2 |
If your a pessimist like me, You would look at the Spearman in Stronghold 2 and think "My god! They look like complete Idiots!".
So, if you are like you and its pure torture to have to look at the Spearman, here's the solution!
This mod gives Spearman a nice new coat of armor making them look a bit more professional and elite. Although this mod does not change the Spearman's suck-ish stats, it does make you feel like your army is a little bit better.
The following is were you are supposed to place this mod assuming you didn't change the placing during installation. And remember BACK UP YOUR FILES, If you are dumb and you forget to though, I have provided a backup in the download folder--
Computer/C/Program Files/Firefly Studios/Stronghold2/Meshes/Units

This is a good Mod for everyday use! I like mods that can be used consistantly instead of just for eye candy. The overall design and concept is really good, I expecially like the metal gloves and metal boots!
Additional Comments:
Overall great mod! I recommend it to anybody that wants a new Spearman.

Thanks for the great reviews both of you! I am trying to find a way to change around the stats of the units, but so far I haven't had any luck.

Hey i have added it to the files and all yea, but the wierd thing is all the other files say spearman.uni and your one says spearman.dds and when i added it to the stronghold2/meshes/units file... it didnt say 'replace' is this something to do with it. the 'dds'? |

Yeah, I think it does have something to do with the dds. What I would do is go to the meshes folder and type "Spearman" in search (If you have a folder search button) in. Then paste the files, that should work. |

The spears are sightly discoloured at the end, according to your screen shot. One arm appears leather and the other cloth. I didn't notice it, but other people, including yourself, claimed there was a black spot on them. Negative criticism aside, it can be difficult to retexture meshes. It's not bad, and they do look a little better than the defaults. Nice job.
Additional Comments: Legends' spearmen look a lot better, and I have a mod to add them, but this is still a good job.
