Land of the Saxons follows where land of the Britons left off, albeit several hundred years later. This scenario sees you the human player in charge of a small garrison on the north east coast of England. The year is 637AD and the plot revolves around the early 'Nordic/Scandinavian raiders, while not completely accurate it is one of many scenarios that'crossover' the different stronghold games(except crusader).I have written a short story to set the atmosphere, which is included in the readme.as always enjoy! LD
A very entertaining play style with the core of Stronghold gaming at the center. Simple castle, continuous invasions, and the task to survive until the finish. I was definitely entertained for a while, but the last few invasions were less interesting because I was too powerful by then to even have to do anything.
Balance: 3.5
For awhile it was challenging, but then it became a little easy. The restrictions were very good. Disallowing Oil Tippers would probably have made it more balanced. That and/or increasing the amount of soldiers that attack in the later invasions. However, it was diffficult from the beginning to midpoint.
Creativity: 4
While maps like this are quite common to Stronghold, they're not as common to Legends, for some sad reason. So, I have to give you points for that. Also, the stone circle added a nice creative touch to the map's overall appearance, and a little extra gold and honor. It was a nice subtle strategic bonus.
Map Design: 4.5
Very, very pretty map. The forests were majestic and realistic, the beach and surf were beautiful, and the river was flowing in the right direction! The grasses, textures, and elevation were all varied nicely as well.
Story/Instructions: 4
Good, concise story with decent description and some humor (I like the "there goes my promotion"). The story also gives some description of your objectives in the mission.

Hi Lord Tanthos, thanks for the review.
Glad you liked the map,i spent a lot of time on making the map look good and again glad you liked it,i was experimenting with the editor and wanted to make an appealing map,as you know the editor isnt as good as the one for SH2,and i'm still having fun with the crusader editor,(see my maps for both games)self advertising!
I did enjoy your latest scenario, which looks to be a very promising campaign.
cheers
