Yes this map is a Kingmaker, but it is also an example of how to set up a Kingmaker map to be played in Kingmaker with all things working and no AI Lord. Here is a link to the corresponding article.
If you want to freeplay this map in Kingmaker, what you will need to do is, load the map and pick your spot, Add 1 AI Lord into the castle icon in the lower left corner near the water, there is a castle icon for the estate but the 1 you want looks allmost out of place, it can be a little tricky but the castle icon should be highlighted but not the space around it, you can set your start conditions and play freely with no AI Lord to interupt your play.
This map will play as a Kingmaker just don't expect an AI Lord to work if you put him or her into the freeplay icon.
Map and artical by Sir_Vet with patient help from Sir Hugh, Thank you Sir Hugh.
When I play Stronghold 2 I finish playing all the really good and natural looking maps and then yearn for more but your maps look better and play better than even the default ones like America or whatever the U.S. map is called, thank you for giving people a challenge with your maps :) (I'll try the editor myself sometime).

Venomrider you are welcome, thank you for the compliment.
If you like to create things then yes learning to use the editor is a good idea. check out some of the design scenario articles and the forums as well.

I have just tried this map, you really showed how great natural looking map can be created in Stronghold 2 editor.
Also, I really like how you made the ground not to be completely flat - it is just like a natural plan! Now completely flat, but flat enough to build farms and any builds one would want to. Also, farms look really nice on that ground as well!
It's not the only thing that makes this map great, but this is what I noticed first, besides other things. :)

I really like the editor, with a bit of patients you can make a very natural looking map, I think it's great, with out the editor I would not be playing any of these games any more.
The world is not flat, why should the maps be, I would like to see the ability to level ground in the game, make it so you can dig out a hill to place buildings would be a great addition, the new SH3 went back to needing flat ground to build on , BORING. I'm afraid the new SHC2 will be the same.:-(
